Ministry extends ploughing period to February 28

The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security has extended the ploughing period from February 16 to 28 for the Northern part of the country.
A press release from the ministry says the extension is due to the continuous rains recently experienced in the country.
Meanwhile, farmers are encouraged to plough and plant when there is adequate moisture in the soil and appropriate varieties which can withstand the expected weather conditions. Ends
