Police in Baines Drift are looking for a man who is suspected to have stabbed his ex-lover under the left breast and left her with gaping wounds.
The victim is currently fighting for her life at Bobonong Primary Hospital, according to Baines Drift station commander, Superintendent Onneetse Gagogosha.
Supt Gagogosha said that after alergedly meting out the brutality on the woman, who was a teacher at Tsetsebjwe Junior Secondary School, the suspect fled the scene and was currently on the run.
According to Supt Gagogosha, the suspect allegedly attacked the 38-year-old teacher at around 11am on Saturday and stabbed her with some sharp object, in the process wounding her in a delicate area of the body.
The station commander said the two ex-lovers reportedly had some misunderstanding prior to the wounding. On other issues, Supt Gagogosha cautioned people to travel when it was absolutely necessary to do so, owing to the bad state of roads caused by the turbulent rains.
“I would like to urge people to be very vigilant under these conditions,” said Supt Gagogosha, who warned of the overflowing rivers. Ends
