BancABC recent listing under the Botswana Stock Exchange has enabled it to attain greater access to efficient capital markets to raise local funding to support future growth plans.
Speaking at the editorial roundtable event that marked the Bank’s 10 years of existence, the managing director of BancABC, Mr Kgotso Bannalotlhe said the listing was a milestone to reckon with; citing attraction of important stakeholders in Botswana in shareholding, which would serve the long-term interest of the ABCH Group.
He also commended BancABC for being among the five large commercial banks in Botswana that provide a range of innovative financial products and services.
Mr Bannalotlhe said their overall strategy since 2001 had progressed to offer world-class solutions and building profitable, lifelong customer relationships.
Furthermore, he underlined that upon their launch in Botswana, the bank went through paralleled developments, which included investing a lot in the technological space to ensure optimal outreach and connectivity with their customers.
Moreover, he said, they managed to expand their service points by setting up branches in Molepolole, Ghanzi, Selebi Phikwe and Maun to mention, among others.
He confirmed that the bank had strived to provide excellent customer service and experience through digitised operations to deliver higher levels of operational efficiency.
Over the years, he said they worked hard to grow the corporate banking business and led in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector.
“Customer centricity is core to our goal of reinventing and transforming financial solutions that empower our clients. We are a committed partner in the fulfilment of their personal and business solutions ambitions, at every stage of their life’s business journey,” he said.
Meanwhile, head of Marketing and Communications of BancABC, Ms Polelo Kilner said remaining relevant was not only linked to their customers, but to all stakeholders, including the media.
“We understand the importance of stakeholder engagement and will continue to build and maintain our relationships,” she said.
In response to challenges brought by COVID-19, Ms Kilner highlighted that customer education was paramount, particularly during the pandemic and therefore BancABC recently retuned and added new products and services that enabled it to continually communicate and avoid disconnection with client base.
“We always strive to have ongoing engagements with our clients. In that way we can help them identify issues and work with them to come up with the most suitable solutions such as SME Webinar,” she said.
She reiterated that their recently conducted webinar focused on sensitising SMMEs on solutions and tips for business development and sustenance during the era of COVID-19.
She added that their path in servicing their respective clientele shall continue to empower customers through innovative research to offer best and timely solutions within the market.
Ms Kilner pointed out inclusive collaboration as one other important element within their overall strategy that continuously positions BancABC as a trusted brand within Botswana and beyond. Ends
