In their quest to empower women in entrepreneurship, Kgatleng Women Support Group hosted female aspiring entrepreneurs in a workshop held recently.
Speaking at a workshop held in collaboration with Botswana National Productivity Centre (BNPC) on December 1, the chairperson of the group, Ms Joyce Setshedi said the aim was to empower and equip members with business and financial skills.
“The aim is to help women in our community with business ideas and equip them with knowledge on ways to market their businesses. We believe that with these skills they will be able to market their business and grow as entrepreneurs.” She said.
When deliberating on the importance of work ethics, BNPC consultant, Mr Kabo Solomon said work ethic was important because it created a strong workforce, allowed for economic development and also assisted employees to move up the career ladder.
He advised entrepreneurs that when running a business, employees who exhibited a good work ethic should be selected for better positions, more responsibilities and ultimately promotion.
Mr Solomon stated that work ethics were important therefore employees who failed to exhibit a good work ethic should be regarded as failing to provide fair value for the wage the employer was paying them. ends
