Good Hope Police are investigating a case in which a 27-year-old man hanged himself after killing his 43-year-old girlfriend on Saturday.

In an interview, Superintendent Mogomotsi Kwapa said the deceased bodies which were decomposed at the time they were discovered, were found  by neighbours on Tuesday following an unpleasant smell which came from the deceased house. 

He said one of them ‘peeped through the window and saw the man’s body hanging and they called the Police.’

Supt Kwapa said upon arrival, they found the man’s body hanging from the rafters of the house and the woman’s body was found on the bed. 

He said they then consulted a doctor who came and later certified the two dead.

Supt Kwapa said they suspected that the man had killed the woman with what looked like an axe and later committed suicide.

The man originated from Bethele while the woman was from Kgoro. Ends
