Nnunu holds farewell concert

As it has become a norm prior to external performances, Nnunu Ramogotsi held a farewell concert for her fans.
On Sunday, September 21, Nnunu’s fans and jazz lovers converged at President Hotel to support her for her tour to Sweden slated for September 27 to October 8. The afro jazz sensation performed with a live band while the show attracted a hand full of jazz fanatics.
This time around Nnunu was performing at the Jazz Xchange, an entertainment programme whose main objective was to cultivate talents in Jazz, Fusion, Blues Folk and World music artists.
Created by Rahman El-Kindiy, the Jazz Xchange also gave artistes a platform to perform and record such genre of music with local and international talents and professional musicians. Meanwhile, Rahman in collaboration with President Hotel and Streethorn Promotions this times around put together a farewell concert for Nnunu. With the Jazz Xchange concept, enthusiasts can frequent President Hotel on Sundays to enjoy live performances of Jazz music.
Rahman said there were many talented musicians in Botswana who had not been discovered and some forgotten, hence the objective of the Jazz Xchange was to find such musicians and give them a platform and entertain at the same time train them on stage etiquette and delivery. He also said they were currently running an exchange program with other countries where they could exchange with local artistes to perform elsewhere with the aim to help local artistes sign international recording contracts.
