President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi’s initiative of supporting small stock farmers on Thursday October 15 led him to Semarule lands near Molepolole, where he donated a buck to 70-year-old, Mr May Babutsi.

Dr Masisi said he was encouraged by the journey Mr Babutsi took in farming, adding that people like him needed to be empowered to grow their stock.

He further said the initiative began against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that even though government plans were negatively impacted, something needed to be done to help people.

Mr Gare said the buck would go a long way in changing the beneficiary’s life, adding that his ministry would organise training for Mr Babutsi to better understand how to care for his livestock.

Meanwhile, the beneficiary expressed gladness as he did not expect the gift from President Masisi, adding that he needed the buck to improve his stock.
