Suave promotes Botswana cuisine

Restaurants and lounges have been advised to modernise Setswana cuisine as a way of selling Botswana tourism and keep culture in sync with current times.
Speaking during a media engagement session at Suave Lounge and Restaurant on October 12, Ms Laura Sekwababe, said it was important to encourage restaurants growth in Gaborone and to help modernise the city.
She said Suave Lounge and Restaurant intended to place the best experience for families and tourists as well as promote Botswana’s cuisine.
She said they wanted to take Botswana beef, which was enjoyed in Europe and other countries, to new heights.
“Our purpose is to cook great food with great service and great vibe for our valued customers,” She said.
Ms Sekwababe said 90 per cent of their employees were youth She said due to COVID-19 regulations, they encouraged their customers to purchase takeaways.
Ms Sekwababe said they planned to open the restaurant in April but due to lockdowns, they opened in September.
She said they were inspired by franchise Turn ‘N’ Tender Steak House and restaurant, and they would want to popularise a similar eatery experience in Botswana. ENDS
