Police in Serowe are investigating an accident which claimed the lives of a 42-year-old and a 27-year-old man on the spot, leaving others critically injured.

Speaking in an interview with BOPA, Serowe Police station commander, Superintendent Poloko Oteng said the head-on collision occurred along Serowe-Palapye road near Kakamane lands on Sunday.

He said the deceased are from Sekao and Mmopi wards in Serowe. 

The accident apparently happened when a Toyota Hilux, which was overtaking, collided with an on-coming Nissan X-trail.  

Six people were in the Toyota Hilux heading to Palapye, while the Nissan X-trail was travelling from the direction of Palapye to Serowe, carrying four passengers, two of whom perished leaving the rest critically injured.

Superintendent Oteng said the deceased were currently at Sekgoma Memorial Hospital awaiting post-mortem while the injured were hospitalised. 

Relatives of the deceased have been notified. ENDS
