A 24-year-old man of Kgosing Ward in Ramotswa is in police custody for allegedly killing his elder brother.
Ramotswa Police station commander, Superintendent Keoagile Tau said in an interview on October 12 that the suspect, who will face a murder charge, allegedly killed his brother with something suspected to be a knife, in the early hours of Saturday.
The 27-years-old was allegedly stabbed after the duo had a misunderstanding and was certified dead upon arrival at Ramotswa’s Bamalete Lutheran Hospital.
Supt Tau said although investigations were still fresh, the two were reported to have had a misunderstanding, which lead to a fight that resulted in death, although he could not ascertain what sparked the confrontation.
The Ramotswa police chief pleaded with members of the community to avoid confrontations and fights as such never resolved problems.
He also cautioned people against using tools and utensils for self-defence as that could lead to injuries and deaths.
Supt Tau said this was the second murder case reported in his jurisdiction in two months’ time, which was a cause for concern.
Meanwhile, the suspect appeared for mention on October 12. ENDS
