 Police have arrested suspects in murder incidents that occurred in Gaborone and Maitengwe  between September 27 and September 29.

A press release from the police says Broadhurst police have arrested a 43-year-old man of Maruapula in connection with murder of his 36-year-old girlfriend who hails from Tsabong.

The release says the incident occurred on September 28 at Tsholofelo location in Gaborone after the duo had a misunderstanding. The suspect was arrested on September 30 at a guest house in Tlokweng where he was hiding after committing the offence.

On one hand, Tutume police have arrested a 39-year-old man for killing his 59-year-old mother in Maitengwe on September 27 after the two also had a misunderstanding. The suspect was arrested at Mpapo lands near Maitengwe.

The release says suspects in the two murder incidents will be arraigned before Broadhurst and Masunga magistrate courts.

Meanwhile, Bobonong police are investigating an incident in which a 32-year-old man murdered his girlfriend on independence eve and later committed suicide.

The incident, the release says, occurred at Dandane Ward in Bobonong and police are yet to establish what could have led to it. Ends
