Police in Maun are investigating a suspected murder,suicide that occurred at Wenela ward in Maun last Friday.

In interview with BOPA, Maun Police Station Commander Superintendent Chenamo Orateng said a 36-year-old man was found hanging from the rafters of a house he was sleeping in together with his lover.

The man’s relative who peeped through the window saw the man’s 26-year-old girlfriend lying motionless on the bedroom floor.

Supt Orateng said the man and his girlfriend were taken to Letsholathebe Memorial hospital by the Maun police where they were certified dead.

He said preliminary investigations showed there were no signs of problems when the two lovers retired to bed on the night of September 10.

Meanwhile, Supt Orateng appealed to members of the public to seek counselling from friends, relatives or pastors whenever they faced challenges in life instead of resorting to terminating one’s life. ENDS
