Maun Magistrate Court, on September 3, convicted Maithamako Koomogetse on two counts of rape.
Chief Magistrate Thebeetsile Molalu said the prosecution had proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused person had sexual intercourse with two women without their consent.
Mr Molalu said since the accused person had pleaded not guilty to all charges, the prosecution was to prove to the court that he hada case to answer, and therefore lined 12 witnesses to support their case.
On the first count, the 49-year-old man of Boronyane ward was convicted for raping a resident of Disaneng ward in Maun on August 18.
The rape victim met the perpetrator on her way to school who then enquired about the whereabouts of her parents.
The convict reportedly followed the victim and allegedly grabbed her by the neck and dragged her into the nearby bush where he unlawfully had sexual intercourse with her.
On the second count, Koomogetse was convicted of raping a resident of Sedie ward in Maun on August 26, 2018.
The victim was reportedly walking to church when she met the offender.
The convict was said to have confronted the victim and asked about where she was going.
