A 20-year old man of Chibana ward in Kanye has pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and robbery before Kanye Magistrate Court.

Freddy Mokgweetsi was initially charged with a single count of rape, but on Monday, the prosecution requested to amend the charge sheet to add a second count of robbery.

The accused person reportedly had canal knowledge of a woman without her consent on December 21, 2019 in Kanye.

Further,ore, he was said to have robbed the same victim of a Huawei cellphone, Blackberry cellphone, Tablet, Orange modem, headsets and purse all amounting to P4 549 on the same date.

The court heard that at the time of the offence, the accused person was violent and used force on the plaintiff.

Even though he had initially indicated that he would seek the services of an attorney, Mokgweetsi said he would conduct his own defence.

The case was scheduled for August 27 for presentation of facts. ENDs
