Maun Magistrate Keneilwe Kgoadi has postponed bail hearing for murder accused Moabi Molapisi of Matlapana Ward in Maun and the accused will remain in custody pending the outcome on September 3.
Molapisi had appeared before Magistrate Kgaodi for bail hearing and status update on investigations.
Defence attorney, Mr Clifford Foroma agreed with the postponement of the bail hearing, stating that the accused had another case in Gaborone and therefore bail hearing could continue in his absence if dates for his appearance in Maun and Gaborone clashed.
The 40-year-old Molapisi is alleged to have murdered his mother, Kehetwe Molapisi, on June 28 this year at her homestead at Matlapana Ward in Maun.
Particulars of the offence are that Molapisi broke and entered his mother’s bedroom on June 28 with an intent to commit murder.
A blood-stained axe that was suspected to have been use to commit the crime was allegedly found by the police in the bedroom that was forcibly opened.
The state was represented by Dimpho Motseonageng who was standing in for Modibedi Tladi of Directorate of Public Prosecution. ends
