Teacher in police custody for defilement

A 49 year-old teacher of Ditshegwane Primary School is in police custody for defiling and impregnating a 14 year-old Standard 7 pupil of the same school.
The man appeared before Molepolole Magistrate Court on August 18, to answer for the act.
Letlhakeng Police Station Commander, Supt Mogomotsi Kesupile told BOPA that the girl was reportedly two months pregnant and police investigations continue.
Supt Kesupile said the nation was grappling with rising cases of rape and abuse of women and children as some men continued to violate women and children’s rights.
He was concerned that while men should be taking responsibility and protecting children, some instead harmed them.
Supt Kesupile said such violations had the potential to destroy the victims’ future BOPA
