Murder suspect in the death of a Zimbabwean national, Ms Precious Kafulatra at Lekwapheng ward near Scottish Livingstone Hospital in Molepolole was arraigned before Molepolole magistrate, Ms Kefilwe Resheng on August 17.
Tshoganetso Keitshokile, 28, is facing three counts allegedly committed against the 49-year-old Shepherd English Medium Primary School teacher at her home on the evening of August 5.
It is alleged that on the fateful evening, Keitshokile murdered Patricia Kafulatra before he robbed her of valuables worth P5 900.
The charge sheet also revealed that the accused raped the victim.
The woman’s body was reportedly discovered by one of her colleagues upon being sent by her curious daughter to check on her mother.
This was after the daughter failed to get hold of her on her mobile phone Thursday evening, the day she dead.
The accused had since been on the run for almost a week until he was nabbed on Friday the 14th.
The prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent Uyapo Koketso pleaded for the accused’s remand, arguing that he was a notorious person with three other pending cases ranging from murder, robbery and threat to kill, the offences he allegedly committed between 2018 and July this year.
Keitshokile allegedly murdered one Toro Mmasere sometime in 2018 by stabbing him with a sharp instrument at a club at Ntloedibe ward in Molepolole.
In the other related offence, Keitshokile allegedly robbed Ayanda Thabo her belongings valued P11 060 using violence to steal the same.
He is also accused of threatening to kill Mphoentle Saulo a month ago at Lekgwapheng ward.
Assistant Inspector Koketso pleaded with the presiding magistrate to deny the accused bail, stating that the number of serious pending cases the accused had disqualified him from being a candidate for bail.
“I humbly request the court not to consider the accused’s plea for bail, because he is not a candidate for bail as he has the tendency to bridge bail conditions,” he pleaded.
Most exhibits in relations to the latest incident, as Assistant Inspector Koketso indicated, have been recovered with the help of the accused person, therefore he insisted on his remand to allow completion of police investigations. ENDS
