Police are appealing for information that could help in arresting  a suspect in a case in which a 25-year-old woman of Mmadinare was raped on July 20 evening.

In an interview, Selebi Phikwe police station commander, Superintendent Meshack Pulenyane said the incident occurred at Mmadinare in the evening when the victim was coming from the shops.

Supt. Pulenyane thus appealed to the community to help with information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrator.

He also urged people, especially women and children, to avoid wandering about in the evening and avoid being accompanied by strangers.

On other issues, Supt. Pulenyane urged communities of Mmadinare and Selebi Phikwe to always adhere to health protocols to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

He urged them to wear masks, wash their hands regularly and observe social distancing at all times because the COVID-19 pandemic was not yet over. ENDS
