Police are investigating the cause of the death of a 44-year-old woman of Gakgatla village near Thamaga whose decomposed body was found under the bed at her home on July 12.

Thamaga Station Commander Superintendent Moses Kwarare told BOPA that the body was discovered Sunday afternoon by suspicious relatives after the woman went missing for three days. 

Superintendent Kwarare said they suspected the deceased to have been murdered by her 35-year-old Mathangwane boyfriend who is reportedly on the run.

It was further alleged that the man who was cohabiting with the deceased took the woman’s children to the grandparent’s place at Gakgatla under the pretext that their mother had gone to seek medical assistance in Molepolole before his disappearance. 

It was then that one of the deceased’s siblings became suspicious and went to the victim’s place where the stench from the house caught their attention upon peeping through the window.

Relatives allegedly broke the door to gain access and discovered the decomposed body under the bed. Ends
