A 36-year-old man on Monday appeared before Selebi Phikwe Magistrate Court on one count of rape, involving minors aged between four and 13.

Selebi Phikwe Station Commander Superintendent Meshack Pulenyane said in an interview that the accused person, was remanded in custody, while awaiting the next mention.

He said the prosecutor is yet to receive a report from the social worker in charge of the case. 

Superintendent Pulenyane said the incident was reported last week that a father raped his four-year-old daughter in Selebi Phikwe.

He also highlighted that investigations have revealed that the accused also raped a 13-year-old girl, who is the sister to his girlfriend. The accused person will appear again at Selebi Phikwe Magistrate Court next week Monday for mention, while police investigations are ongoing. ends
