Kazungula Police intercept burglars

Kazungula Police have launched a manhunt for three men who allegedly stole a television set from a house on June 10.
According to Superintendent Paul Chalusa, police intercepted the trio, believed to be Zimbabweans near Botswana - Zimbabwe border.
Suspecting that the three were thieves, police fired two warning shots where upon they dumped the television set in their possession and disappeared.
Superintendent Chalusa also stated that the men also dropped equipment which they had used to gain entry into the house.
He said the police traced footprints which led them to the Zimbabwean border.
Superintendent Chalusa noted that since the start of extreme social distancing, there had been an increase in number of border jumpers along Botswana and Zimbabwe border especially portions along Kazungula and Lesoma villages.
He said police will intensify patrols along the border and appealed to Batswana to report anyone they suspect to be an illegal immigrant. Ends
