Kasane Magistrate Court has granted Mukasa Ntengu (44), who is accused of wounding a Lesoma-based social worker, Mr Atlasame Ledimo on April 29, conditional bail.

Ntengu is alleged to have attacked and wounded Mr Ledimo when the latter was assessing the suspect’s family for possible COVID-19 food basket.

Ntengu, who is represented by Mr Morupi Mbeha of Mbeha Attorneys, was ordered to pay a cash bail of P2 000, provide two Batswana sureties binding themselves with P2 500 each.

In addition, he was ordered not to be a suspect any criminal activity as well as report to Lesoma Police Post four times in a month otherwise his bail condition would be revoked.

Meanwhile, state prosecutor, Sergeant Frank Richard of Kazungula police told the court that the victim, was now out of hospital. Ntengu will appear for another mention on June 15.ENDS
