Police investigate fatal accident

Kachikau Police are investigating an incident in which a 64-year-old employee of the Department of Wildlife and National Parks was killed by a bulldozer he was test driving at Savuti Wildlife Camp on May 10.
In an interview on May 11, Kachikau Station Commander, Superintendent Situme Budani confirmed that the deceased man met his untimely death when test driving the bulldozer, which had a breakdown.
He said the police received a report from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks on May 10 at around 10am and rushed to the scene where they found the deceased trapped underneath the bulldozer in an unconscious state.
Superintendent Budani said the man was rushed to Kasane Primary Hospital where he was certified dead.
He explained that their preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was overrun and trapped by the bulldozer, which was in motion at the time when he alighted from it.
Superintendent Budani said the deceased, was from Pandamatenga and his body was awaiting post mortem whilst his relatives had been notified. ENDS
