Selebi Phikwe police nab duo

Selebi Phikwe police have arrested a man and woman, both aged 23, for possession of a substance suspected to be drugs.
Station commander, Superintendent Meshack Pulenyane, said in an interview said that the two were arrested on Wednesday during a stop, question and search operation at Ikageleng ward in Selebi Phikwe.
He said the police found four small plastic sachets in the duo's vehicle, containing a white hard substance suspected to be cocaine or cat.
Supt Pulenyane said the two were arrested immediately, adding that the small plastic sachets were sent to a forensic laboratory for testing.
He said if found guilty, the duo would be charged for possession of illicit substances with a fine not exceeding P1 million or 20 years imprisonment or both.
In addition, the male suspect was also charged for failure to comply with COVID-19 regulations since he was not in possession of a movement permit. Ends
