Forty- year-old horticulturalist and Shashemooke native, Mr Gorata Modongo, is all smiles; thanks to a business opportunity accorded him by the village COVID-19 task committee.
Having already sold part of his produce and on the verge of selling more, Mr Modongo said on Wednesday that he benefitted handsomely from the department of social and community development during extreme social distancing period.
The department procured farm produce to give to COVID-19 beneficiaries.
“So far I have been able to supply Shashemooke COVID-19 team with tomatoes as well as rape and I am looking forward to supplying them with more vegetables,” Mr Modongo said.
He said the short distance that he had to travel to deliver orders within close proximity in Shashemooke was worthwhile. Ends
