Ghanzi police investigate defilement incident

Ghanzi police are investigating a defilement incident that occurred in one of the farms near the township recently.
Station commander, Superintendent Modiro Lekone, said in an interview that the incident was reported on April 23 and a 21-year-old man was in police custody to help with investigations.
Supt. Lekone explained that it was alleged, however, that the suspect and a 17-year-old victim, had a love affair that started on April 19.
In other issues, Supt Lekone said they recently charged and fined five West Hanahai residents for defying Section 21 of state of emergency regulations by producing traditional brews. They were each fined P500.
He added that, from April 21 to 23, they also charged 23 persons for roaming the street without permits and each was fined P200.
Furthermore, he reminded the public to continue to practice extreme social distancing even when shopping. ENDS
