WUC augments water supply

Kasane Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) has re-connected 365 customers who were disconnected in order for them to have water access during the current COVID-19 outbreak period.
 
WUC General Manager, Mr John Froese in an interview on April 25 said that in addition, the corporation is bowsing water to Kazungula’s Flowertown twice a day from Mondays to Sundays to increase water supply.

He said the corporation had also augmented the water supply by increasing the number of the three 10 000 litres Jojo tanks with additional four 5 000 litres of Jojo tanks, adding up to seven tanks.

Mr Froese also stated that the corporation, bowsers water to Mabele Village on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, once, every two days.

He said in all these bowsing exercises, the corporation is using three water bowsers, two for Flowertown and one for Mabele’s plateau area.

Mr Froese said the corporation is closely monitoring the cleanliness of the water supply due to the current overflowing of the Chobe River.

He appealed to Batswana not to defy the social distancing regulations and always remain disciplined by staying at home in order to fight this pandemic. BOPA
