A mutilated body of a 53-year-old Gabane man suspected to have been murdered was exhumed from two shallow graves on April 17 at Motswiri ward in Gabane.

Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Russ Letsebe confirmed the incident to BOPA stating that a 21-year-old man, who is the son of the deceased, is in police custody suspected to have been involved in the gruesome murder.

Superitendent Letsebe said the body was buried in two separate graves at the back of the yard.

Superintendent Letsebe said they suspect that the incident occurred on April 15 and was brought to the police attention by a reliable source on April 17, leading to the arrest of the deceased’s 21-year-old son, who was the only person staying with the deceased.

The police superintendent was however not privy with information on what could have led to the gruesome murder, saying investigations were still at a premature stage. ENDS
