Police constable on interdiction again

Seven men including a police constable were arraigned before the Molepolole Magistrate Ike Raphael on charges of stock theft.

The accused are Constable Gaokgakala Abang aged 43; Dikutlo Basimolodi of Sojwe aged 53 , Keletso Pule of Gaborone West (33) , Matlhogonolo Gaonapelo of Sojwe (37) , Kago Mooketsi of Serowe (29) and Letsweletse Modise of Sojwe (39).

The accused are said to have stolen three cattle from Sojwe and transported them to an unidentified destination in Molepolole before they were arrested at Mogonono, about 12km from Molepolole.

 In an interview with BOPA, the station commander for Sojwe, Superintendent Kitsiso Lemogang said Constable Abang allegedly issued the six men with a clearance permit two days prior  to the transportion of the cattle, the delay which rose suspicion.

Supt Lemogang said the 43-year-old police officer had resumed duty three months ago following his 10-month interdiction on a similar offence. END
