Authorities charge quarantine 78-old-man

A 78-year-old man has been charged and placed on mandatory quarantine in Tutume for entering the countrry at ungazzetted entry point on Wednesday.

Superintendent Jerry Halahala of Tutume Police Station said the man, who was from Zimbabwe, was charged P1 000.

Upon arrival, the man reportedly went to his nephew's house in Nkange and they were both placed on quarantine.  Superintendent Halahala said the man said he went to check his relatives in Zimbabwe.

He said the area was still facing challenges of people who sought permits to get their daily necessities at supermarkets in Tutume instead of local  general dealers.

He said the directive to have people staying at home was a preventative measure to control spread of corona virus. Ends
