Nata police have fined three people for brewing traditional beer at home for sale.

Station commander, Superintendent Vincent Pitsietsile, said the trio; two women and a man, were fined P500 each.

On other issues, he said they experienced an influx of people coming to their office and village kgotla in need of travel permits to go shopping. Supt Pitsietsile said many of those people were coming in pairs or in groups from the same family or household.

He said they, however, addressed them emphasising on the importance of adhering to the social distancing regulations to fight COVID -19. Supt Pitsietsile said they advised people to avoid unnecessary movement, claiming to be going to the supermarkets.

He said they also resorted to using a public address system to alert the people on the declaration of State Public Emergency.

However, he pointed out that in the surrounding villages of Maposa, Manxotae and Sepako, they had not encountered any problems regarding movement of people. Ends
