Seven appear for P4m robbery incident

A total of seven suspects appeared before Selebi Phikwe Magistrate Court this week in connection with a robbery that occurred on the Selebi Phikwe-Serule Road on March 30.
According to a press release from Botswana Police Service Public Relations Unit, four suspects, aged between 24 and 45, allegedly attacked and robbed a cash-in-transit security company vehicle that was transporting cash from Francistown to various destinations.
They were arrested three kilometers from Serule. Police also recovered a vehicle and cash amounting to P4 million.
The release says three other people were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property related to the robbery.
They were allegedly found in possession of part of the money which came into their possession following the robbery.
Meanwhile, in Mochudi police arrested four men aged between 20 and 25 in connection with a March 28 robbery incident at one of the supermarkets.
The media release alleges that the men entered the supermarket and made away with three till trays with an undisclosed amount of money.ends
