Accused wants to reconcile with complainant

After pleading not guilty to a single count of motor vehicle theft on today (March 17), accused person, Ndombi  Selaolo informed the Village Magistrate Court that she was ready to reconcile with the complainant.

Selaolo, also known as Ndombi Abouelela, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate, Ms Batho Kgerethwa.

The prosecutor from Directorate of Public Prosecutions, Mr Omphemetse Makale said having pleaded, the accused person would have to go for a case management conference where she would be served with copies of witness statements as initially planned. 

Ms Kgerethwa advised the accused person that the prosecution was ready to facilitate her proposal to reconcile with the complainant.

She further ordered that the accused person be remanded in custody, until her next mention on March 31.

Ms Kgerethwa ordered the prosecution to serve the accused person with all the necessary documents, including witness statements.

The particulars of the offence are that, the accused person on or about October 02, 2012 at or near Block 9 in Gaborone, stole a motor vehicle being a dark green Honda CRV bearing registration numbers B 721 ATS valued at P40 000, being the property of Octavious Gora with the intent to permanently deprive the said individual of the vehicle.
