Good Hope potential business hub

Good Hope Sub-district, has the potential to become Botswana’s industrial site and a farming hub due to the abundant land available in the area.
Speaking during the Metlhala ya Khumo hybrid, in Ramatlabama recently, the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Ms Peggy Serame indicated that the tourism sector could boom since the villages were closer to the border and also along the A1 road.
She said Borolong area in general had for years been a prime farming area, therefore it was time for Barolong to return to their former position.
Speaking about the event, she said it was hosted in Borolong to enable business networking, to showcase locally manufactured products as well as to inform the community of the services offered by the ministry.
She urged residents to utilise the opportunities availed and advised them to open lodges and hotels in the area.
Giving a vote of thanks Goodhope-Mabule MP, Mr Eric Molale said Ramatlabama, Pitsane and Metlojane had potential to be commerce and industry sites.
He urged Rolong Land Board chairperson to reserve land for such sectors.
He advised Good Hope Sub-district public officers to pay suppliers on time.
He said suppliers were unhappy about services, urging officers to improve service delivery, and to also minimise giving tenders to businesses not situated around rolong area.
Mr Molale also advised residents to utilise services offered by the trade ministry and applauded ministry for hosting the market street in the area. ENDS
