Electra Mining Botswana continues to set the pace as Africa’s leading mining, industrial and occupational health.
This follows the recent accolades where Electra mining was awarded the best Africa Bound Exhibition at the recent exhibition Industry Alliance (EIA) Awards in Johannesburg, South Africa.
TRM Group managing director Mr Fhoster Manyaapelo said they won a distinction in marketing award, a distinction in logistics awards and overall best Africa Bound Exhibition 2019 award.
“The awards celebrated outstanding achievements in the exhibitions industry,” he said.
He said Electra Electra Mining Botswana expo was also among the top 10 exhibitions in the 2019 exhibition of the year category, something he hailed as an achievement in itself.
The top 10 awards for the best stand was however won by Sweet-Orr.
The awards were hosted by the Exhibition and Event Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) and the Association of African Exhibition Organisers (AAXO).
“Entries were judged on exceptional exhibition marketing strategy and logistics excellence.
Exhibitors were also recognised for the visual and interactive impact of their exhibitor stands,” he said.
Agreeing with Manyaapelo, specialised exhibitions portfolio director Ms Charlene Hefer explained that having a local partner ensured that the show was relevant and supported within the regional market.
Ms Hefer said she was passionate about working with a local partner as this created an exhibition suited to the local environment.
“We feel strongly about adding value to the region and we use local suppliers and contractors wherever possible.
In fact, more than 80 per cent of the budget is spent on local suppliers.
We are looking forward to working alongside TRM Group again in 2021,” she said.
She further explained that ‘the benefits of Electra Mining Botswana extended beyond the exhibitors and visitors.
She said the positive impact of these events in Botswana was their contribution to the national economy, either directly or indirectly.
“This is through venue expenses, expenditure on products and services, advertising and promotion, logistics, travel, accommodation, meals and drinks, spend of exhibitors on exhibiting, and the additional local spend of visitors and exhibitors while at the trade show,” she added
Ms Hefer said the exhibition also contributed to part-time job creation during the show and as add-on tourism for those visiting Botswana.
The fifth edition of Electra Mining Botswana will take place at the Gaborone Fairgrounds from September 14-16, 2021.
The show plays a pivotal role in bringing related industries together at one location, showcasing new products, services and technology while providing excellent learning and networking opportunities for visitors and exhibitors. ENDs
