Jwaneng galaxy registered its first home loss in the BTC Premiership on Sunday, courtesy of Security Systems who pipped them by a solitary goal.

A solitary strike by Eric Molefi in the first half was enough to ensure that the two teams swapped positions in the log standings, with Galaxy relegating to the third spot while the Alarm Boys moved from third to second, a point behind log leaders, Orapa United.

Despite dominating the game for most of the time, especially in the first half, Galaxy failed to turn that dominance to their advantage as in most instances their stumbling block was the Ostriches solitary defence, marshalled by the good performance of the hard-tackling Kitso Mangolo and the rest of his defensive mates.

The Ostriches managed to get a goal and succeeded to settle in the game, especially in the middle of the park, where the diminutive Thatayaone Ramatlapeng was having a field day, roaming around even the flanks and spreading around dangerous passes.

Both teams also had further chances to change the game, but mostly they were squandered with the likes of Morris Rozivo and Olebogeng Malebye at fault for their respective teams.

The Ostriches have so far accumulated 40 points from 19 games, with Systems at 39 points and Galaxy at 38 from as many games.

Township Rollers sit at position four with 37 points, but a game in hand.

With the top four so tight, any slip by any of the teams would likely spell disaster for them, and Galaxy seems to be on the wrong as they failed to win any of their last two games.

Before losing to Systems on Sunday, they played to a one-all draw against lowly placed Tafic in Francistown midweek, and the results have not gone well with many Galaxy supporters, with some calling for the dismissal of Miguel Da Costa.

After being knocked out of the Mascom Top 8 Cup by Orapa United, Galaxy supporters were hoping to find solace in the BTC premiership championship, but their hopes now look suspect.

In other games over the weekend, Orapa United saw off Molepolole City Stars by two-goal to nil while Rollers overcame Prisons XI by a solitary goal.

The result means that Rollers still have a chance to claim top spot, should they win their game in hand, and Gaborone United also ensured they do not remain far off the top four-pack by registering a 2-0 win against Miscellaneous at the National Stadium.

In other games, Extension Gunners were held to a one-all draw by high flying rookies, BR Highlanders while Tafic collected maximum points against Gilport Lions through a 2-0 victory.  ENDS
