09 Feb 2020
Broadhurst Magistrate Court has set August 17 as mention date for a case involving former Directorate of Intelligence and Security Services (DIS) agent, Welheminah Maswabi.
Chief Magistrate Linah Oahile-Mokibe took the decision Friday after the prosecution and defence teams had informed the court that they had consented to a date for status hearing of the case.
Prosecutor, Mr Omphemetse Makale told the court that though the case was set for status hearing, the parties had agreed on August 17 as a mention date.
“My worship, we do confirm that proposed development,” said defence attorney, Mr Uyapo Ndadi.
Maswabi code named Butterfly is facing three counts of possession of unexplained property, financing terrorism and false declaration of passport.
Mr Makale confirmed that investigations were still ongoing. Ends
