Ministry extends ploughing period

The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security has extended the ploughing period for the southern part of the country from February 01 to February 07.
A media release from the ministry says the cut-off date for the northern part of the country remains February 15. The ministry encourages farmers, members of the public and other stakeholders to plough and plant when there is adequate moisture in the soil.
The release says farmers who use technologies such as row planting and harrowing will continue benefitting according to ISPAAD guidelines. ENDS
