CoA dismisses UDC petition appeals

The Court of Appeal (CoA) has struck out appeal by 13 Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) parliamentary candidates in the 2019 general election.
CoA president, Justice Ian Kirby, said they found no reasons to entertain the appeals.
Advocate Duma Boko, Masego Segokgo, Victor Phologolo, Nelson Ramaotwana, Dr Mpho Pheko, Ketlhalefile Motshegwa, Moagi Molebatsi, Olebogeng Watshipi, Patrick Molutsi, Ontlhathile Selatlho, Mohamed Khan, Haskins Nkgaiwa, Dr Micus Chimbombi and Sam Digwa had appealed Francistown and Gaborone high court judgements that dismissed UDC petitions, saying they failed to comply with election petition procedures.
However, the Court of Appeal will hear the appeal of Audrey Ramatsebanyana of Babusi ward at 2:30pm today
