03 Dec 2019
Former director general of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security Services (DIS), Isaac Kgosi’s case resume today at 4pm.
Regional magistrate-south Mr Masilo Mathaka had earler during Kgosi's appearance in court ordered that he should go to the government medical doctor where they would prove his medical condition.
Ms Thato Dibeela of DPP had agued that Kgosi should be examined at the medical facility owned by the government to prove his medical condition.
She also told the court that Kgosi had submitted his passport and should be held by Botswana Police until an order had been released as to what should be done with it.
Ms Dibeela also said warrant of arrest issued against Kgosi remained in place until the court cancelled it. Kgosi had previously failed to satisfy his bail conditions by going to Malaysia to seek medical intervention and hence the warrant of arrest. Defence lawyer Thabiso Tafila was also in agreement that his client should go to the government facility for assessment.
Kgosi faces charges of disclosing the identity of DIS agents and obstructing them in their course of duty early this year.ENDS
