Government departments and the private sector will converge at Tshane in Kgalagadi District over the weekened for the launch of the Vision 2016 awareness month.

The two-day event, which will be officiated by the Vice President, Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe will resume with the touring of exhibition stalls on Friday, August 30 with the official opening scheduled for Saturday at the Tshane Agricultural Show grounds.

The event is expected to showcase a wide range of services that government departments and private sectors alike render to the community in a mission to align them with the seven vision pillars and demonstrate adherence to the pillars.

With only three years remaining to 2016, this year’s vision launch promises to leave no stone unturned in sensitizing Batswana to own and live the vision. Hukuntsi Sub-district assistant district commissioner, Mr Patson Dibotelo said in an interview that owning the vision is vital in building a great society free of social ills, one that is self-supporting and productive.

He said in preparation for the celebration, the vision 2016 council has worked closely with the village’s leadership to sensitize the community on the importance of hosting such celebrations. Moreover, he said the village leadership has at all levels engaged their constituents in making the vision launch a success.

Kgosi Bojosi Motshoge commended the vision council for choosing Tshane to host the launch highlighting that it is a clear testimony that his village has a visionary leadership that is capable to assist the government to achieve the ideals of the national vision. Ends
