Residents Pay Last Respects To Former President Mogae

This morning residents of Selebi Phikwe, Serule, Topisi, Palapye and Seowe paid their last respect former president Dr Festis Mogae. Mogae, who served as Botswana’s president from 1998 to 2008, died on May 8. The cortege’s passage through the Central District formed part of the official funeral procession ahead of burial arrangements in Gaborone on Saturday. Crowds gathered along the roadside in each village as the convoy moved through, with many standing in silence as a mark of respect for the former head of state.ENDS
