Phikwe police probe murder

Selebi- Phikwe police have arrested a 30-year- old man of Seboo ward in Mmadinare to help them with investigations of a murder incident.

Selebi-Phikwe police station commander Superintendent Meshack Pulenyane said in an interview that the accused allegedly stabbed his 53-year-old girlfriend with a sharp object Tuesday night after they had a misunderstanding.

The man was arrested at a traditional doctor’s house in Mmadinare on November 13.

The deceased whose names are still withheld, was certified dead on arrival at Mmadinare Primary Hospital.

Superintendent Pulenyane advised couples to seek help from their parents, social workers and the police to resolve their problems.

He also warned men against Gender Based Violence and urged them to find other means of resolving their problems.

Meanwhile, Selebi Phikwe police are investigating an incident in which a 10-year-old boy of Mmadinare committed suicide last week.

Supt Pulenyane said police investigations were ongoing to establish the cause of the death.

However, he advised parents to build strong relationships with their children and advise them positively.

He said when children have a good relationship with their parents they would feel free to share their problems. Ends
