Police in Tutume are investigating an incident in which a 62-year-old man of Selolwane ward in Tutume was found dead with multiple injuries with a suspicion that he was hit by a car.
Station commander, Superintendent Jerry Halahala confirmed in an interview on Monday, that they received a report on November 9 morning that a person was lying motionless along the road next to the department of forestry.
He said according to their investigations, it appears the old man was going to the post office to queue for service at BotswanaPost.
He said the deceased body was at the government mortuary while investigations were ongoing. He further said unfortunately no one had come forth so far to report about the incident hence they were appealing to the community that anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward as it can lead to the arrest of the suspect.
He highlighted that it was not the first time that they have had such a similar incident at the same spot.
He said last month, two people were hit by a car and fortunately for them, they did not meet their fate and the car that hit them was found.
He, therefore, urged road user to be vigilant at all times when they cross and passing along that area. ENDS
