Recording live music is slowly encroaching in the local music scene. The Independent Assemblies of Botswana Church this Saturday did not want to be left behind and took to the stage to record a live gospel CD and DVD package.
With a six piece band accompanied by 14 choir members, the Gaborone West church brought all branches together for a thrilling praise and worship moment.
In black dresses, clamped with red full belts, ladies who dominated in numbers were high in spirit together with the other four male members led the church in singing. Taking turns to go upfront, the team took the audience to another level of worship with songs such as Come Bless the Lord, God is calling and Lord we worship you.
To the delight of the audience, the choir also sang old hymns, though adding a bit of style to enhance songs such as Mookamedi ya renang, Lekunutu le morena and Re a go boka morena. The choir also made up of Zimbabweans dished out songs in Shona such as Mune Simba and Torumbidza.
The audience seemed not to have a problem with the pronunciation of the lyrics of the song as they continued to sign along and dance. Though the band’s sound system did not come out so well, the audience kept on dancing and singing, to show support to their lead choir.
In an interview with the organiser, Simbarashe Mashindi said they took to the stage to record a live CD/DVD as they did not want to leave their church members behind. ENDS
