Residents of Tsanekona settlement near Maun have appreciated a mobile clinic worth P100 000 donated by Bush Ways Botswana.
Speaking at the donation recently, Assistant Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, Mr Konstantinos Markus said the mobile clinic would benefit residents given they had to travel long distances to other health facilities for medical attention.
Mr Markus said the donation of a mobile clinic was aligned to the Vision 2036 pillar of a healthy nation.
He further applauded residents for their commitment in ensuring a clinic facility was made available in their area.
He promised to donate furniture for the mobile health facility.
Mr Markus commended Bush Ways Botswana, a tour guide and mobile safari company, for their gesture, saying investors contributed positively to development and the economy of the country.
He said government continued to attract investors owing to peace that prevailed in the country.
Bush Ways Botswana director, Mr Mark Germiniquest said the donation was part of the company foundation which was formed 20 years ago to assist communities in which they operated.
Mr Germiniquest said they had been operating in the Botswana safari industry for about 25 years.
He said the portable clinic facility was made possible through his company and Shalula Farm as main sponsors as well as other partners including Norcas Botswana, Allied Consulting, Kojo Modular and Koru Designs.
He said the mobile clinic was an answer to the request by Tsanekona residents who had appealed for assistance.
Mr Germiniquest said residents would, in future, extend the clinic to a community centre as anticipated. ENDS
