Murder accused gets bail

Extension II Magistrate Court today (August 28) released on bail a man who allegedly murdered a 33-year-old woman, Mmonyi Semente on August 12 at Masetlheng ward in Tlokweng.
The accused, Itumeleng Motshweneng was granted a P2 000 bail when he made an appearance before Magistrate Batho Kgerethwa. The magistrate also ordered the accused to provide a surety.
Magistrate Kgerethwa released Motshweneng on conditions proposed by the prosecution.
She ordered the accused to report to Tlokweng Police once a month, failing which his bail would be revoked.
Defence attorney, Mr Modisa Kebonyemodisa had earlier pleaded with the court to grant the accused bail, a move that the state counsel did not oppose. He will appear for mention on October 29. Investigations continue. Ends
