BW Party, one of the biggest events in the local entertainment industry, is scheduled for September 14 at Gaborone Senior Secondary School grounds.

Having started last year, the BW Party is an all local music spectacular, featuring Botswana’s top musicians, amateurs as well as upcoming artistes. This is where artists also go down memory lane to perform their once hit songs which turned them into household names.

In an interview, the event coordinator, Godson Tshipietsile said the rationale of the BW Party was not only to revamp the local music industry but also to remember artistes who were once popular but seemed to be going into oblivion. Furthermore, he said the BW Party also presented a platform for new and upcoming artistes to market themselves.

However, when it started, the BW Party was a launch of the renowned local hip hop artiste, Kast’s single dubbed BW Party where a lot of Botswana artistes were invited to perform at the launch. That was the biggest launch event in the history of Botswana entertainment because it had attracted musicians from many regions in the country. Ends
