Police in Tlokweng have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old woman in the same village on Monday.
Tlokweng Police Station commander, Superintendent Unoziba Rari said according to an eye witness, the man and the woman seemed to have a misunderstanding and the man allegedly hit the woman with a stone.
It is allerged that after the woman fell to the ground, the man ran the car over her body and sped off.
That is when one of the passers-by called the police station and the officers immediately rushed to the crime scene.
Supt Rari said that the police officers found the woman unconscious in the middle of the road and rushed her to Extension 2 Clinic in Gaborone, where she was certified dead upon arrival.
It is suspected that the man did not know that the woman had died as he was reported to be calling the deceased’s cell number and those that of her friends, asking about her whereabouts.
“Investigations are on-going and I would like to advice lovers to seek help if they fail to resolve their issues amicably to avoid incidents such as these,” he said. ENDS
