Howell, whose  trial continues on September 19, recently appeared before Kanye magistrate Ditebogo Ntuli to answer for a single count of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

He is accused of assaulting James Rantlhoiwa by pushing him to the extent that the complainant  fell and sustained injury on his right jaw.

The incident reportedly took place at Tsogo Ward in Ranaka village on July 14, 2018.

Giving evidence during trial, Rantlhoiwa told the court that he met his fate while trying to separate the accused and another person during a fight at a bar.

He maintained that the accused person hit him with an object and he was injured.

He also told the court that the accused had at some point asked for forgiveness which he did not accept.

The second witness, Gaesi Telekelo told the court that even though she did not see any object used, she witnessed the complainant being pushed by the accused person on that fateful day.

Telekelo, who is engaged as a Tirelo Sechaba participant at Ranaka clinic, said she then called the complainant’s girlfriend and together they took Rantlhoiwa to the clinic. Ends
